First off, apologies for the lack of updates on the site. Not only did I move to a new place in DC over the summer, but I’ve still managed to stay quite busy with laying down remixes as well as some new productions for the next album (I won’t say just yet what they sound like…you’ll have to wait!)

Anyway, if you’re in the DC area this month, I have a couple LIVE shows lined up. The first one is on Saturday, Sept. 11th at U Street Music Hall and I’ll be opening up for Miami Horror. It should be a stellar show! The second gig will be at The Galaxy Hut on Sunday, Sept. 19th.

As usual, I’ll be performing special LIVE versions of tracks from my recent album Autonomous. These live versions have been getting a lot of love and so I’ve decided to go ahead and release them as a special remix album called Autonomix which will be out later this year (on my label Output Noise Records)! Stay tuned for my info on that one.

UK band The Longcut has just released the “Broken Hearts” EP which contains my remix of “Open Hearts”. I went for a big house sound with this one, but also tried to retain some of the rock vocals and textures from the original. Enjoy!

I am super excited to tell you guys that on May 25th I will be doing an opening DJ set for none other than Michael Mayer (who co-runs the Kompakt label). The party goes down at U Street Music Hall here in DC and also DJing will be Brian Billion.

I was so excited about this event that I’ve made some special techno versions of a few songs from Autonomous and will be premiering them at the show.

The show is free for those that RSVP on the facebook event page. So head on over there and click “Attend”. See you guys there!

Although people have been pretty curious about my new vocal/dance material, when Shelby Cinca (who runs the Swedish Columbia label) asked me to remix “Afterimages” by Itaru, he specifically requested me to do an IDM remix. After making so many dance tracks recently, I was excited about the challenge of creating something similar to my older material. Using Aphex Twin’s “On” as inspiration, I tried to capture the lo-fi magic of early 90s techno. Anyway, I hope you enjoy it. Also, be sure to check out the rest of the Afterimages EP, out now on Swedish Columbia.

Thanks to everyone who came out to the ArjanWrites.com Superfraiche Pop Night a couple of weeks ago. It was great being up in NYC again and I had blast performing and also seeing Reni Lane and Beautiful Small Machines do their thing on stage! Below are some photos from the night:

The nice folks over at BYT (Brightest Young Things) have written a lengthy review of the show I played at The Fridge last weekend with Bluebrain and Autorock. I think they enjoyed it…
